This paper was a reflection that I completed as a part of my course work in ISTC731, Advanced Technology Integration taken in the Fall of 2016. This paper was a reflection of my own technology use in the classroom as well as my application of technology with my students. The purpose of this paper was to help me to focus on my own growth within the area of technology use. This paper was a collaborative piece. During the course we had to share technology experiences that were meaningful to us in class. Peers then responded to our comments expressing why they believed these moments were meaningful to us which we had to reflect on in our papers. Two other graduate students, Christina Collini and Emily Belk, were my partners for this assignment. Through this paper, I came to realize that I was failing to provide the freedom to explore technology in my instruction that I was utilizing myself in my own learning. This paper helped me to grow as an educator and to realize that I needed to allow my students the freedom to create using technology and not just use technology for direct instruction.
Leadership In Technology: As leaders it is important to reflect on our own learning as well as our own pedagogy, or teaching style, over time. This is even truer as leaders in technology given the fast rate of change with the development of new and diverse technologies. This artifact was included in my portfolio as a demonstration of that self reflection in the area of technology. This reflection looks at how I have utilized technology within my classroom in the past and translates what I have learned throughout my program and experiences to how I would like to use technology within my classroom in the future.
